Tricks & Treats in our Pumpkin Patch Sunshine Box
Our Pumpkin Patch Sunshine Boxes and Moonshine Bags have gone out this month. It was exciting for us to come full circle and complete one year of Sunshine Box tutorials! We were able to send out this wonderful fabric from Windham Fabrics by Dinara Mirtalipova called Mischief Night. We used the Fantastico Citrus Grove thread to circle from pumpkin to pumpkin, outlining the shapes and looping on to the next. Embellishing a pattern already printed in the fabric is a great way to create texture.
Having practiced on a small scale in the borders, we upped the scale for the larger raw-edge appliqued pumpkins in the centre for this cute Halloween pumpkin Patch demo quilt. Our tutorials show how to use the line designs to make seasonal postcards but you could also use the designs to make a quilt or bag.
Our Moonshine Bags feature a Silver Metallic that’s guaranteed to work in your machine whether it’s a long arm or a regular domestic sewing machine. We teach you how to make a spider web just like the spiders do!
And that brings us to the Trick and Treat part. For our tricks, we do have rather life-like large and small spiders that you could use in your projects. For the treats, we’ve included a special American Halloween favourite called candy corn because it resembles the multi-coloured Indian corn used for seasonal decorations.
Happy Pumpkin Day to everyone from Machine Quilter! Have fun with your Little Box of Sunshine Boxes and Moonshine Bags.
